In an effort to strengthen its position in the capital markets, Ripple stated on Monday that it has made strategic investments in Licuido, an FCA-regulated tokenization platform, and ZILO, a company that specializes in transfer agency solutions.

According to a statement from Ripple, the transactions are anticipated to provide regulated transfer agency, issuance, and collateral mobility to its XRP Ledger infrastructure.

As investment funds go onchain, ZILO supports tokenized share classes and offers transfer agency and fund administration technologies for asset managers, custodians, and transfer agents.

According to the statement, Licuido concentrates on issuing and distributing conventional financial assets so that they may be utilized as digital collateral via onchain atomic settlement infrastructure.

The most recent agreements, according to Ripple’s SVP for trading and markets Nigel Khakoo, expand on the company’s current alliances with Aviva Investors, Franklin Templeton, and DBS, which “demonstrate how asset managers are focused on deploying tokenized fund structures at scale.”According to Khakoo’s announcement, “ZILO and Licuido provide core capabilities that are essential to further scaling this shift: regulated digital transfer agency infrastructure and liquidity for issuance and collateral mobility.”

According to Ripple, there are inefficiencies in the world’s capital markets, such as collateral that is idle, settlements that take longer than required, and few options for releasing liquidity.

“Ripple’s infrastructure for institutional investors and issuers is designed to solve these problems, combining issuance, custody, collateral utility, multi-currency enabled investment, and atomic settlement, with Ripple’s stablecoin RLUSD as the regulated cash leg for delivery-versus-payment transactions,” the business said.

Ripple’s first partnership with a European investment management company was in February, when it teamed up with Aviva Investors to investigate tokenizing conventional fund structures on the XRP Ledger.
