Cathie Wood’s ARK Invest added a combined 109,129 shares of Circle Internet Group across three of its actively managed exchange-traded funds on Friday, July 31, 2026, one day after the stablecoin issuer secured a limited purpose trust charter from the New York Department of Financial Services.

Through the 3iQ Solana Staking ETF, the company increased its exposure to Solana and strengthened its portfolio’s inclination toward regulated digital asset infrastructure.

The ARK Innovation ETF led the purchasing with 77,103 CRCL shares, or around 0.0833% of the fund, according to the company’s daily trading notification. The ARK Fintech Innovation ETF acquired 9,788 shares, or 0.0839% of its portfolio, while the ARK Next Generation Internet ETF acquired 22,238 shares, or 0.0842% of the fund.  The total ticket printed close to $6.83 million when compared to Circle’s Friday closing of $62.61.

Despite its little stature, the Solana leg was purposefully pointed. With the addition of 6,772 SOLQ.U units by ARKW and 5,012 by ARKF, the fund family’s total exposure to Solana increased to 11,784 shares, or around $71,528. It was the third SOLQ tranche. After a $30,000 purchase on July 27 that The Crypto Times reported along with a $14.3 million SpaceX transaction, U made another purchase in less than a week.

One of the cleanest catalysts CRCL has produced since its June 2025 IPO was followed by the purchase. Circle Internet Trust Company LLC, operating under the name Circle New York Trust, was given a limited purpose trust charter by NYDFS on July 31. The USDC issuer now has both state-level virtual currency banking authority and federal fiduciary custody capabilities thanks to the state authorization, which builds upon Circle’s July 10 OCC national trust bank certification.

The dual charter structure places Circle inside the GENIUS Act framework’s operating perimeter and produces a compliance stack that competitor Tether is presently unable to match. The trust charter extends an 11-year regulatory relationship, and Circle was the first business to get a BitLicense from NYDFS back in 2015.

The New York charter, according to CEO Jeremy Allaire, is a “longstanding objective” for the company and puts USDC “within a strong, respected framework as digital dollars become central to the global financial system.”

The market shrugged in spite of the two regulatory victories. With a market capitalization of about $16.5 billion, CRCL ended the Friday session down 2.54% at $62.61 and continued to decline into the new week, printing $61.59 on August 2. Wood made that vulnerability riskier.
