Ripple has expanded its partnership with investment firm Brevan Howard, with Ripple Prime set to provide prime brokerage services to funds managed by the firm.
The expanded agreement will give Brevan Howard access to trading, clearing and financing services for traditional and digital assets. The partnership builds on an earlier relationship between the two companies, which included investment by Brevan Howard affiliates in Ripple.
Ripple Prime will now provide multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing and financing services to Brevan Howard, expanding our relationship with one of the world’s leading alternative investment managers.

Under the new agreement, Ripple Prime will provide multi-asset prime brokerage services to Brevan Howard funds. The platform will also provide clearing and financing services.
Prime brokerage services are used by large investment firms to manage different parts of their trading activities. These can include financing, clearing trades and managing assets through a single platform.
Great to see @Ripple Prime deepen our relationship with Brevan Howard, now providing multi-asset prime brokerage, clearing and financing across their funds.

Ripple said the agreement reflects growing interest from large investment managers in services that cover both traditional financial markets and digital assets. Brevan Howard will get access to Ripple Prime’s platform, which includes crypto assets such as XRP and RLUSD.
Alan McGroarty, group chief operating officer of Brevan Howard, said demand for institutional-level digital asset infrastructure is growing as traditional financial markets and crypto markets become more connected.
Ripple has also been expanding Ripple Prime’s services. In August, the company launched stock trading through its Delta One business. The trading desk allows investors to use total return swaps on US stocks. The service is aimed at hedge funds, market makers and ETF issuers.
The latest agreement is not the first time Brevan Howard has worked with Ripple. Their relationship goes back to last year, when affiliates of Brevan Howard invested in Ripple as part of a $500 million funding round.
That funding round valued Ripple at about $40 billion at the time. Ripple’s valuation later increased to $50 billion following a $750 million share buyback programme earlier this year. The expanded partnership shows how companies from the traditional financial world are becoming more involved in digital assets.
For Brevan Howard, the new arrangement provides access to a platform that combines traditional and crypto-related services. For Ripple, it expands the reach of its prime brokerage business among large institutional investors.
