DeLorean is reaching out to the world of money by joining forces with the Litecoin Foundation. Litecoin (LTC) will be a way to pay for the cars that DeLorean is making.
The Litecoin Foundation and DeLorean Labs made the news on Tuesday. They talked about plans to bring together ideas in cars and more people using digital money. As part of the deal, DeLorean Motor Company will take Litecoin to buy the DeLorean electric cars when they are ready.
People will also be able to use DeLorean’s DMC digital money to buy the cars. The deal will also look into ways to manage money and work together on events, in life and online.\

The announcement also says they are working with Charlie Lee, the person who started Litecoin. The companies have not shared which cars they are making, how much they cost, when they come out or when people can start using digital money to buy them.
Litecoin Builds Momentum Across Institutional Markets
The DeLorean partnership marks another step in Litecoin’s growing influence in both payments and institutional finance.
On September 11 2026 Grayscale Investments Sponsors LLC submitted Amendment No. 1 To its Form S-3 registration statement for the Grayscale Litecoin Trust. The filing was made with the US Securities and Exchange Commission. This move brings the proposed product one step to a possible listing, on the NYSE Arca, where it would trade under the ticker LTCN.
The preliminary prospectus states that the sponsor intends to rename the product the Grayscale Litecoin Trust ETF if the registration becomes effective and the shares receive listing approval.
Litecoin is also being developed for institutional use through the Canton Network. On October 1, the Litecoin Foundation and Greywick Digital signed a Memorandum of Understanding covering the development of cLTC, a version of Litecoin intended for the network.
Greywick Digital will create cLTC, while the Litecoin Foundation will support the asset for institutional trading, yield-bearing products and other applications. Development is underway on a live testnet, with reserve addresses, attestation standards, and the launch sequence still being prepared.
Litecoin Price Drops Below $68
Litecoin is currently trading at around $67.46, down roughly 4.15% from the previous close. The cryptocurrency has traded between $67.18 and $70.57 during the current session.
The latest move comes as investors continue to assess Litecoin’s potential expansion into new payment and institutional use cases.
The DeLorean partnership could give Litecoin another real-world payment avenue if the automaker’s electric vehicles reach customers as planned. However, details surrounding the partnership remain limited, with no information yet available on contractual duration, governance arrangements or specific adoption targets.
