Payward, the company behind crypto exchange Kraken, has teamed up with Singapore Gulf Bank (SGB) to offer 24/7 US dollar settlement to selected institutional clients in Asia and the Gulf region. The service is designed to let eligible clients move dollars and make them available for crypto trading even outside normal banking hours. It connects SGB’s real-time clearing network with Payward’s digital-asset infrastructure.
Markets run 24/7. Settlement should too.
Payward has integrated SGB Net from @SGB_app, a real-time clearing network, so institutional clients can settle instantly, 24/7.

The partnership was announced on October 5. Payward has connected its services with SGB Net, the bank’s real-time, multi-currency clearing network. Initially, the service will be available only to selected institutional customers in supported countries and only for US dollar transactions. The two companies said they plan to add more clients and currencies later, but they have not given a date for those changes.
The main idea behind the deal is fairly simple. Crypto markets operate 24 hours a day, but traditional banking systems do not always work around the clock. This can create delays when institutions want to move money between banks and crypto platforms.
With the new arrangement, eligible SGB clients can deposit money with Payward and make it available for trading without having to wait for normal banking hours.
SGB will also work with Kraken Prime, Payward’s institutional prime brokerage platform. This will give the bank another source of digital-asset liquidity and allow it to use Payward’s markets when pricing crypto trades for its customers.
Neither company has said how many institutions are included in the first phase or how much trading activity they expect from the service.
SGB has partnered with @Payward to bring 24/7 instant settlement to institutional digital asset markets across Asia and the GCC.
Through SGB Net, clients can move cash in real time at any hour. SGB is also collaborating with @KrakenPrimeHQ to access liquidity for its digital asset offerings, giving institutional clients deeper markets and reliable execution around the clock.

SGB launched SGB Net in 2025. According to the bank, the network now handles more than $20 billion in fiat transactions every month. That is a sharp increase from the more than $2 billion in monthly volume the bank reported in February.
The bank is regulated by the Central Bank of Bahrain and is backed by Bahrain’s sovereign wealth fund Mumtalakat and Singapore-based Whampoa Group.
Payward has been building more links between traditional banking and digital assets. In September, it announced a similar 24/7 settlement arrangement with US financial technology company SoFi.
The latest deal extends that approach to institutional customers in Asia and the Gulf. For now, US dollars are the only currency covered by the Payward-SGB arrangement.
