NFT Sales Tumble 63% Year Over Year
Non-fungible tokens (NFTs) sales reached $8.70 billion in 2023, a 63.35% decrease from the previous year. Despite an increase in demand towards the end of the year, the annual total remained the lowest since 2019’s $3.75 billion. However, the number of NFT transactions increased to 90 mn , surpassing 54 mn in 2022.
Cryptoslam.io data shows that there were 4.16 million sellers and 4.97 million buyers of NFTs in 2023, with Bitcoin and Solana experiencing a substantial increase in sales towards the end of the year, with Bitcoin outperforming Ethereum in November and December.
