- Kazakhstan has obtained court injunctions against Coinbase, BingX, Bitcoin.com, HTX, BitMart and WEEX.
- Kazakhstan claims that these companies are providing crypto services without a licence.
- Kazakhstan’s restrictions forbid any digital asset services, marketing and app distribution inside the AIFC.
Kazakhstan’s financial regulator has obtained court orders that limit Coinbase and 5 other cryptocurrency platforms from offering digital asset services in the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).
The Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA) said the injunctions include Coinbase, BingX, Bitcoin.com, Huobi Global (HTX) BitMart and WEEX.
The orders prohibit the platforms from offering or promoting unauthorized crypto services and distributing related mobile applications within the financial center.
Kazakhstan Targets Six Crypto Platforms Over Licensing Rules
The court action reflects Kazakhstan’s efforts to strengthen oversight of cryptocurrency businesses operating within the AIFC. Under its regulatory framework, companies must obtain authorization before offering digital asset services within the center.
According to the AFCA, the proceedings followed an enforcement campaign that began in 2025. The regulator first sent warnings to, over 20 crypto platforms. Then in 2026 it took those platforms to court.
The court ruled in favor of the regulator after the platform operators didn’t answer within the set time. No response meant the court could go ahead with the judgment.
Coinbase Ban Is Limited To AIFC, Not All Of Kazakhstan
The injunctions do not constitute a nationwide ban on the six platforms. In its September 15 judgment the AIFC Court clarified that the restrictions apply only within the financial center and to users located there.
The orders also concern Google and Apple in their capacity as app-store operators. However, the court declined to issue separate injunctions against the companies, stating that AFSA should first discuss the necessary steps with them.
