Elon Musk’s X has expanded its Cashtag Partner Program with Coinbase, Gemini, Kraken, Interactive Brokers and Moomoo, allowing eligible U.S. users to move from financial discussions on the platform to participating trading services. The expansion means users can tap supported stock, ETF or cryptocurrency Cashtags, view market information and then select a new Trade option.
X redirects users to the relevant crypto exchange or brokerage to complete the transaction. The social media platform itself does not execute trades or hold customer assets. The move connects X’s timeline more directly with trading services while expanding its Smart Cashtags feature.

Previously, X’s Cashtags mainly served as a way for users to follow market discussions and view financial information. The expanded programme adds a practical route to participating trading platforms.
When users tap a supported Cashtag, they can see a price chart, related posts and other market information. If the asset is supported by one of the participating companies, a Trade option can take the user to that provider. Customers can then sign in or create an account before completing a transaction.
The five launch partners cover both cryptocurrency and traditional financial markets. Coinbase, Gemini and Kraken provide cryptocurrency services, while Interactive Brokers and Moomoo offer access to traditional financial products. The assets available through each provider can vary depending on the user’s location and account eligibility.
X has also expanded Smart Cashtags with Big Charts, which offers larger interactive charts for stocks and cryptocurrencies on iOS and the web. Supported assets include Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Solana, Dogecoin, Hyperliquid, Tesla, Strategy and Coinbase.
The company said the new tools are designed to make the connection between market conversations and financial services more direct. However, the actual trading relationship remains between users and the participating financial companies.
X’s Product Engineering Lead, Mridul Singhai, described Cashtags as a way to bring together a ticker, market information and discussion on the platform before users move to a brokerage or exchange.
For now, the expanded Cashtag Partner Program is available to U.S. users. X has not announced when similar brokerage connections will become available in other markets.
The company also unveiled Grok 4.7, describing it as its most capable model for coding and knowledge work, with twice the speed and half the price of Grok 4.6.
