BitGo Bank & Trust, a federally chartered digital asset trust bank, announced on September 20 to power TOYOSA, an official Toyota distributor in Bolivia. TOYOSA introduced Bitcoin as a payment method for vehicle purchases at Expocruz 2026 in Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
The announcement was made at the company’s booth on the evening of September 18, 2026. Customers will be able to purchase a Toyota vehicle using Bitcoin alongside bolivianos, U.S. dollars, and USDT.

BitGo said in an X post that BitGo Bank & Trust provided the digital asset wallet infrastructure supporting the payment option. BitGo Bank & Trust is an OCC-regulated digital asset trust bank and a subsidiary of BitGo Holdings, Inc., which trades on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker BTGO.
According to a press release snapshot shared along with BitGo’ s post, The introduction of Bitcoin follows TOYOSA’s earlier adoption of USDT payments in 2025. Under the concept “Your Bitcoin. Your Toyota. Trust Evolves,” the company presented the option as an expansion of its digital payment solutions.
A video shown during the presentation concluded with the same phrase and described the process as a new way to acquire a vehicle. TOYOSA stated that the feature adds Bitcoin to the payment options available to customers within its ecosystem.
