$5.28 tn in Stablecoin Settlements Expected by 2024
A Visa & Castle Island Ventures poll predicts stablecoin adoption will rise in H1 2024.
By year’s end, stablecoin settlement volumes are expected to exceed $5.28 trillion, according to the report. Real-world applications include payroll, trade settlements, remittances, and cross-border payments.
Stablecoins are used by 69% of respondents to replace cash, 39% to buy goods and services, and 39% to make international payments.
Marathon Digital Adds Over 5,000 BTC in a month.
Marathon Digital Holdings (MARA), a large Bitcoin miner, now has 26,200 BTC worth $1.5 billion.
August 14 saw the business buy 4,144 BTC, raising its holdings to over 25,000.
At the end of August, MARA had 25,945 BTC. MARA “HODL”s all mined BTC and plans to buy sometimes.
This makes MARA the second-largest public Bitcoin holding behind MicroStrategy. MARA has around 0.12% of Bitcoin’s supply.
