As senators work to enact the proposed crypto measure before the Senate’s August break, the Clarity Act has earned its first public endorsement from a significant U.S. law enforcement organization. The measure is supported by the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE), which claims that it will assist combat financial crime while maintaining the existing investigation authorities. Congress is still being urged to support the proposal by Senators Tim Scott and Cynthia Lummis.

According to NOBLE, the Clarity Act would provide law enforcement with more effective tools to combat unauthorized money transmission, digital asset kiosk fraud, and money laundering. The organization said that the plan enhances investigations without diminishing current enforcement tools in a letter to Senate leaders John Thune and Chuck Schumer.

The Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act (BRCA), which intends to provide non-custodial blockchain developers with precise regulations and legal safeguards, is also included in the bill. According to NOBLE, the plan does not deny investigators or prosecutors who deal with cryptocurrency crimes any authority.

Despite opposition from certain other law enforcement organizations, this endorsement is given. The International Association of Chiefs of Police and the National Sheriffs’ Association have expressed concern that some provisions of the law might lead to vulnerabilities that criminals could exploit in blockchain networks.

Before the Senate reconvenes later this month, legislators in Washington are now working on ethics regulations and protections for police enforcement. Simultaneously, on July 17, the House Financial Services Committee will host a hearing to discuss how the Clarity Act can encourage innovation in digital assets.

In order to get Senate approval before to the August session, supporters are moving swiftly. Senator Cynthia Lummis has frequently denounced any delays and supported the measure. Tim Scott, the chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, reaffirmed his support for the measure, stating that it will provide clear guidelines, safeguard consumers, and enable the further growth of digital finance in the United States.

Expectations in the market are also growing. Prediction website Polymarket has increased the likelihood that the plan would become law later this year, while Bloomberg Intelligence now projects a 60% possibility that it will pass this month.
