Lithuania warned that digital asset firms operating without a MiCA license after December 31 will be deemed in violation of the law and may face fines or potential jail time.
The Bank of Lithuania urged unlicensed exchanges and wallet providers to wind down operations before the transition period ends. Of more than 370 registered firms, only about 120 remain active. As of mid-July, 30 companies had applied for licenses, with ten under review.
