Ex Premier Suggests Taiwan Should Issue NFT
Former Taiwanese Premier Sean Chen has suggested that a new president should issue a non-fungible token instead of a commemorative coin to celebrate the swearing-in of a new head of state.
The central bank will issue coins to mark the occasion, but Chen believes the bank could help Taiwan become the first country to launch an NFT to celebrate the swearing-in of a new president.
The NFT would be an environmentally friendly way of celebrating the change of power and would be a present to the new head of state.
The central bank will consider the wishes of the president-elect before deciding on an NFT, similar to a similar plan by the UK government, which never produced results due to the decline of NFTs and the cryptocurrency market crisis.
