Bitmine Immersion Technologies acquired 12,535 Ether (ETH) tokens, bringing its total holdings of Ethereum to 6.04 million tokens. Bitmine announced the latest purchase on October 19 and stated that it had reached 6,041,481 ETH at October 18. The transaction comes as Ethereum battles to remain above $2,500 following a recent sell-off.
Bitmine now controls nearly 5 percent of all Ethereum, with the company close to its target of 5 percent. Bitmine said that it had continued to acquire Ethereum every week since implementing its Ethereum treasure strategy in June 2025.
BitMine Adds 12,535 ETH, Holdings Rise to 6.04M ETH
BitMine said it acquired 12,535 ETH over the past week, bringing total holdings to 6,041,481 ETH, or about 4.9% of Ethereum’s 122.1 million supply. The company has 5.07 million ETH staked, while its total crypto, cash, marketable securities and other investments were valued at $15.1 billion as of October 18.

The company’s total portfolio of cryptocurrency, cash, marketable securities and other investments was worth around $15.1 billion as of October 18. Bitmine valued its Ethereum holdings at about $14.29 billion using a reference price of $2,365 per ETH.
The latest purchase follows the company’s announcement of holding 6,028,946 ETH after its update on October 12. Bitmine’s increased holdings by 12,535 tokens, which has moved the company closer to its goal of 5 percent of Ethereum. With a total supply of 122.1 million tokens, the company would need 63,519 more ETH to represent exactly 5 percent of Ethereum’s supply.
Despite a small daily rebound, Ethereum’s performance has been relatively weak. At the time of the report, ETH was trading at around $2,422 , a 0.50 percent increase over the previous 24 hours, but a 4.80 percent decrease over the previous seven days. This shows that Bitmine continues to purchase Ethereum despite its falling price.
Bitmine Chairman Tom Lee has said that the company plans to continue to acquire Ethereum, believing that blockchain technology and its application in financial services will enable the long-term growth of digital assets. However, his optimism does not necessarily guarantee that Ethereum’s price will rise.
The company is also deriving potential income from its Ethereum holdings. Staking, locking up cryptocurrency to help support the network while receiving rewards, represents another opportunity for revenue. Bitmine reported that 5.07 million ETH, around 83.9 percent of its total holdings, had been staked as of October 18.
Using an estimated annual staking yield of 2.58 percent, the company’s current staked holdings could generate around $309 million in annual revenue. It also estimates that staking its entire Ethereum balance could generate about $369 million a year. These are projections, not guaranteed earnings, as staking yields can fluctuate.
Aside from Ethereum, Bitmine reported that it held 215 Bitcoin, $582 million in cash and marketable securities and investments in Beast Industries and Eightco Holdings.
The latest purchase demonstrates that Bitmine continues to acquire Ethereum despite a recent price drop. The company appears to be continuing with its strategy of building a large ETH treasury while deriving additional income from its staking, with its progress toward the 5 percent target a key point to watch.
