India to Develop Dark Net Monitoring Tool
According to reports, the Indian Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is creating a crypto intelligence tool in response to an increase in illegal cryptocurrency activity in the nation.
Through the Cryptocurrency Intelligence and Analysis Tool (CIAT), the MHA seeks to thwart criminal activity related to cryptocurrencies. The Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre, a branch of the MHA devoted to addressing and investigating cybercrime, is in charge of leading the initiative.
The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) is implementing a project using CIAT to monitor crypto wallet addresses in the dark net, enabling the compilation of transaction records and alerting the MHA when irregular or unusual crypto activities are detected. This move is in response to the rise in crypto-related illegal activities in India, following a recent incident where an Indian software engineer lost over $120,000 due to crypto fraud.
