Sony To Build New Blockchain In Joint Venture
Sony Network Communications and Startale Labs have formed a joint venture to develop a blockchain that could become the backbone of global Web3 infrastructure. The new entity, “Sony Network Communications Labs Pte. Ltd.,” will officially take shape in September. The collaboration aims to offer value-added services across various industries by pooling their collective expertise and networks.
Sony Network Communications, part of the Sony Group, is combining its expertise in communication, IoT, AI, and solution services with Startale Labs’ Web3 expertise to drive global innovation. The company’s seed funding from Sony will enable Star Labs to double its workforce from 15 to 30, enhance contributions to Astar Network and Polkadot, and start fresh Ethereum projects. Jun Watanabe, President and Representative Director of Sony Network, emphasized the partnership.
