Croatians Record Holders In Crypto Investments
Slovenians and Croatians set European records for the proportion of citizens who invest in the risky cryptocurrency market. According to Večernji, approximately 16% of Croatians and 17% of Slovenians buy Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, which is roughly three times more than the European average.
The Czechs are third, with 14 percent investing in cryptocurrency. Only 6% of the population in “risk-averse” Germany believes they can become wealthy by mining using the internet rather than traditional means. Italians and Spaniards have the least trust in the cryptocurrency realm, with only 4% showing curiosity.
The European Commission’s first survey on financial literacy in the EU revealed low levels of knowledge across the EU. Approximately 18% of citizens have comprehensive knowledge about inflation, investments, and risks, while 64% possess some basic knowledge. The remaining 18% have no knowledge. Croatia has a slightly higher proportion of well-informed individuals at 20%, and fewer complete novices at 16%. The country has seen an increase in cryptocurrency investments and trust in banks. However, one in five Croatian citizens lacks savings and struggles to support themselves without a steady income.
