Wimbledon 2023 To Feature AI-Generated Highlights
This year’s Wimbledon tennis tournament will include artificial intelligence (AI)-powered commentary and player analysis to increase fan engagement, allowing fans to obtain analysis personalised to players they follow.
The world’s oldest tennis tournament unveiled its plans to integrate the new technology across its web platforms in a June 21 release from the All England Lawn Tennis Club (AELTC) and technology giant IBM.
A new AI commentary tool powered by IBM’s WatsonX technology, developed in conjunction with the AELTC, will generate audio and captions for match highlights videos. This novel feature is intended to provide insights into important occasions through the use of tennis-specific jargon.
