OKX-ICE Partnership
This partnership creates a unique regulated 24/7 trading environment for tokenized US stocks. The partnership has received a special five-year innovation exemption from the SEC. This allows the tokenization of stocks listed on NYSE and other exchanges, creating a 24/7 platform. Listed companies are granted the right to object during the 30-day period.
Corporate Objections
Over 56 companies have objected to their stocks being tokenized during the 30-day objection period. From concerns regarding regulation, investor protection and how they will be treated under regulation. SpaceX, which has already seen high volumes of trading in its tokenized shares, have joined Amazon, Tesla and Netflix in formally objecting to having their equities on the platform. However, supporters of the project believe that they have seen real success with the level of take up.

Confident Project Future
Pat Cuomo, President of ICE, said that he is confident with the future of the project. He said that whilst there are objections, “More companies will come on board as we get clarity from regulators…”. The partnership between OKX and ICE is seen as a vital step in bridging the gap between traditional equities and DeFi. Supporters of the project believe that it will bring liquidity and access to markets worldwide through tokenizing equities.
