REX Shares and Osprey Funds, asset managers that jointly build and distribute exchange-traded crypto investment products, have set October 23 as the proposed effective date for a new Staked SEI ETF designed to track Sei Network’s native SEI token while generating supplementary income through staking.
The fund managers filed a post-effective amendment under the ETF Opportunities Trust structure on September 24, pushing the product a step closer toward an actual market debut.

Sei Network confirmed the development through its official X account, describing the filing as covering spot SEI exposure paired with staking rewards.
The SEI filing isn’t moving forward in isolation either, it’s grouped alongside a cluster of other proposed crypto ETFs, including products tracking Avalanche’s AVAX, Sui’s SUI, Near Protocol’s NEAR, and Hyperliquid’s HYPE, all targeting that same October 23 date.
How The Staking Mechanism Would Work?
Under the proposed structure, the REX-Osprey SEI + Staking ETF would hold SEI tokens directly while staking a portion of those holdings through Sei Network’s proof-of-stake consensus system.
That setup would let investors gain price exposure to SEI through a regulated fund wrapper while simultaneously capturing staking rewards generated by the underlying network, rather than requiring individual investors to stake tokens themselves.
REX Shares and Osprey Funds have been steadily expanding a broader lineup of digital-asset ETFs covering both straightforward spot exposure and staking-enhanced products.
SEI ETF Trading Launch Awaits Further Clearances
An effective date of October 23 wouldn’t automatically translate into the ETF actually trading that same day. The fund managers still need to clear additional listing and operational requirements before shares could begin changing hands, with Cboe BZX floated as the likely exchange venue once that happens.
REX and Osprey aren’t the only ones pursuing this particular niche, either. Canary Capital has separately advanced its own proposal for a staked SEI ETF, adding yet another potential product built around combining SEI price exposure with staking-based yield for investors interested in this specific corner of the crypto ETF market.
