The process of making Grayscale Investments’ Litecoin Trust a publicly traded exchange-traded fund is now underway. Amendment No. 1 to the company’s Form S-3 registration statement has been filed. Once authorized by the authorities, the fund may be listed on NYSE Arca under the ticker LTCN. However, a number of regulatory conditions need to be fulfilled before this may happen.
The preliminary prospectus was released on September 11, 2026. The revision updates the registration statement that was first filed in September 2025. Grayscale will rename the product the Grayscale Litecoin Trust ETF if the registration is accepted and the shares are cleared for listing on NYSE Arca.

Since August 2020, LTCN has been trading on OTC markets, therefore this is significant. Investors may have a more comfortable and convenient option to invest in Litecoin if the trust is converted into an ETF and listed on an exchange.
This filing does not, however, guarantee the ETF’s launch. In order to list and trade shares on a national exchange, the US Securities and Exchange Commission must complete its 19b-4 approval process, which is still a prerequisite for the conversion.
Grayscale is currently present in the US cryptocurrency exchange-traded fund (ETF) market, and successfully converting Litecoin would expand its possibilities for investing in digital assets. As more institutions have access to cryptocurrency, supporters of Litecoin are likewise keeping a careful eye on these developments.
This most recent filing is not yet a final approval; rather, it is merely a stage in the process. Investors will be keeping an eye on the SEC’s response and the remaining regulatory actions to determine whether LTCN can transition from an OTC-traded trust to an ETF listed on the NYSE Arca.
