Capital B has bought another five Bitcoin for €280,000, taking its strategic Bitcoin treasury to 3,145 BTC. The Euronext Growth Paris-listed company said the latest coins were acquired at an average price of €55,882 each. Capital B now puts the total acquisition cost of its strategic reserve at €284.2 million, or €90,352 per Bitcoin. The latest purchase was funded through capital raised under its agreement with French asset manager TOBAM, as the company continues using equity financing to build its Bitcoin holdings.

The latest purchase followed €301,460.25 in capital increases completed through Capital B’s ATM-type agreement with TOBAM. Between July 27 and August 7, the company issued 647,110 ordinary shares at an average rounded price of €0.47.

That issue price represented a 3.52% premium to Capital B’s August 14 closing price. Euronext data showed the company’s shares closed at €0.454 on Friday, down 2.72% during the session.

The latest purchase is relatively small compared with Capital B’s earlier accumulation. In May, the company used newly raised capital to acquire 192 BTC, taking its holdings to 3,135 BTC at the time.

With the latest purchase, the company’s strategic reserve has reached 3,145 BTC. Capital B reported a net asset value of €170.9 million for that reserve, compared with the €284.2 million acquisition cost.

This means the value of the Bitcoin reserve was about €113.3 million below its acquisition cost at the reference price used in the company’s latest disclosure. Capital B calculates this figure using Bitcoin’s closing price on the trading day before each announcement, so it represents a snapshot of the reserve rather than the value of the entire company.

The company also holds another 61 BTC for operational purposes. These coins are kept separate from the strategic treasury and are excluded from Capital B’s Bitcoin strategy performance indicators.

Capital B reported a year-to-date BTC Yield of 2.14%, along with a BTC Gain of 60.3 BTC and a BTC euro gain of around €3.28 million. Its quarter-to-date BTC Yield was 0.28%, while Bitcoin held per fully diluted share remained at 736.4 satoshis.

There is an important qualification around these figures. Capital B says its BTC Yield should not be interpreted in the traditional financial sense. The measure does not represent investment returns, operating income or returns generated by the Bitcoin holdings. Instead, it tracks changes in Bitcoin held per fully diluted share.

The company also disclosed that Blockstream Capital Partners converted 14,195,352 OCA B-01 instruments into 28,687,362 ordinary shares at a rounded conversion price of €0.495. No OCA B-01 instruments remain outstanding.

Following the conversion, Blockstream Capital Partners holds 71.8 million ordinary shares, representing 21.74% of Capital B’s issued capital and 35.63% on the company’s stated fully diluted basis.

Capital B’s continued Bitcoin purchases come after shareholders approved significant financing capacity in June to support further treasury expansion. The company received authorisation for up to €5 billion in capital increases and €100 billion in credit instruments, although that approval does not mean all of the authorised financing will be raised.

The strategy is also notable when compared with larger corporate Bitcoin buyers. Strategy recently sold a combined 3,328 BTC over two weeks ending August 9, raising around $213.3 million. The company used the proceeds for preferred-stock dividends and STRC share repurchases.
