Tripura Introduces Blockchain-Based Secure Data System

For the purpose of securing the information on the state’s beneficiary management system, the Tripura government has begun utilising blockchain technology.

For this, the state government has partnered with the Bengaluru-based NIC Blockchain Centre of Excellence and is utilising its APIs.

The state government will be able to store state beneficiary data sets on the blockchain using the APIs, protecting the records and preventing data manipulation. Tripura is securing scheme-specific approved beneficiary lists, approved transaction requests, and scheme-specific information about successful transactions using a blockchain-based beneficiary management system.

The action supports the state government’s goal of promoting “Digital Tripura.” As part of its digital push, it has also implemented programmes like the IT/ITeS Startup Scheme, Data Centre Policy, ITeS Policy, and IT Incentive Scheme.
