Strategy Inc., led by Executive Chairman Michael Saylor, has bought 250 Bitcoin and repurchased $192 million worth of its STRC preferred stock. The company announced these moves on October 12, 2026. According to Saylor, Strategy held 848,250 Bitcoin and $5.5 billion in US dollar assets as of October 11.
The company is continuing to increase its Bitcoin holdings while also reducing the amount of preferred stock in the market. These steps are part of its plan to manage its money and investments.

Strategy spent $21.5 million to buy the additional 250 Bitcoin. This amount includes fees and other expenses. The company used $21 million raised by selling its Class A common shares, known as MSTR stock, to fund most of the purchase. The remaining $500,000 came from its existing cash reserves. The purchases were made between October 5 and October 11.
With this latest purchase, Strategy’s Bitcoin holdings have reached 848,250 coins. This is about 4% of Bitcoin’s maximum supply of 21 million coins. Strategy is known for holding large amounts of Bitcoin as part of its business strategy. It regularly announces new purchases and uses money raised through share sales, along with its available cash, to increase its holdings.
The company also reported that it had $5.5 billion in US dollar assets as of October 11. This includes $4.88 billion in its USD Reserve and $640.5 million in cash. The reserve is mainly meant to help the company pay dividends on its preferred shares and interest on its debt. The remaining cash can be used for general business needs, including buying more Bitcoin.

Along with adding Bitcoin to its treasury, Strategy repurchased $192 million worth of STRC preferred stock. STRC is a type of investment that pays dividends at a variable rate. Unlike ordinary shares, it is designed to offer investors a different level of risk and return. Strategy has said that it plans to buy back STRC shares when their market price falls below their stated value of $100, depending on market conditions and available funds.
After this latest repurchase, Strategy has $354.8 million remaining under its authorisation to buy back preferred stock. It also has $1 billion available under a separate programme to repurchase its ordinary MSTR shares.
Michael Saylor also shared two figures related to the company’s financial strategy. Strategy’s USD Duration stands at 3.5 years, while STRC’s BTC Credit is 52 basis points. These figures are based on certain assumptions about Bitcoin’s expected annual return, price volatility and market price. They are intended to help investors understand the risks linked to the company’s preferred shares and Bitcoin holdings.
Strategy operates a software business as well as its Bitcoin treasury business. Its software operations focus on enterprise analytics and artificial intelligence. The company sees these activities as part of its broader plan for long-term growth.
The latest announcement shows that Strategy is managing two priorities at the same time. It is continuing to build its Bitcoin holdings while using share buybacks to manage its financial obligations. With a large Bitcoin reserve and substantial dollar assets, the company has several options for managing its capital in the coming months. However, its future decisions will depend on market conditions, available funds and its financial commitments.
