- Through reputable humanitarian organizations, Ripple is providing flood aid to Tibet and Nepal.
- Solana raised money for flood relief in Nepal via its X profile. The initiative highlighted the use of stablecoins in disaster fundraising by accepting USDC.
- Through Engage Nepal, Nepal Relief offers a onchain donation channel. A glacier fall and debris flow that resulted in extensive damage preceded the floods in Nepal.
On August 26 2026, a terrible flash flood struck Nepal. The flood came suddenly. Was very damaging. It happened after a glacier broke or an avalanche occurred upstream near the Tibet border.
The moving water and the rocks and dirt that went with it destroyed villages and towns, along the Bhote Koshi and Trishuli River areas. Homes, roads and important buildings were all destroyed. For families the disaster changed everything very quickly. Communities were now dealing with a problem that needed help right away.
As the work to help people continues, some companies that deal with cryptocurrency are offering help. Many of these companies are working with groups that help people in need. They are giving things like food, clean water and help with keeping clean.
The Solana Foundation took a different approach to raise money, using a fundraising auction tied to its X profile. The campaign shows how crypto and stablecoins can give donors another way to send money across borders, especially when traditional payment systems may not always be easy to access.
According to Reuters at 1,252 people have died, and more than 4,200 are still missing. Thousands of homes were. Many may need to be rebuilt in safer places.
Ripple Uses Humanitarian Partners To Deliver Nepal Flood Relief
Our thoughts are with those impacted by the devastating floods in Nepal and Tibet.🇳🇵
Ripple is donating $300,000 to @WCKitchen and @MercyCorps to support emergency meal distribution and water and sanitation efforts on the ground.
— Ripple (@Ripple) August 28, 2026
Ripple is stepping in to support relief efforts in Nepal and Tibet. The company has donated three hundred thousand dollars to World Central Kitchen and Mercy Corps. This funding will go toward providing food, water and sanitation services to communities hit hard by the disaster.
Ripple is not sending XRP or RLUSD directly to the government. Instead, it is working through trusted groups. World Central Kitchen and Mercy Corps are already on the ground. They have teams and local partners in place, which allows them to respond quickly and effectively to the needs of the people who are suffering.
Solana Turns X Profile Into Fundraising Auction For Nepal Flood Victims
In cooperation with the NFT marketplace Mallow, Solana split its X profile picture into nine separate ad spaces. These spaces were then sold off in an auction to brands.
$166,946.50 raised for Nepal flood relief.
Thank you to everyone that took part.

Buyers placed their bids using USDC, a stablecoin intended to remain near the value of one US dollar. According to Solana, the nine winning bids raised $166,946.50 before the end of the auction.
According to the rules of the campaign, every penny from the auction had to go to relief. The funds were sent through Engage Nepal, a nonprofit based in the United States. From there, the money was passed on to Nepal’s Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund.
Crypto Creates A Donation Bridge
Another initiative, Nepal Relief, is providing an onchain donation route through Engage Nepal. Its public wallets accept USDC on Ethereum and Polygon.
The model allows international donors to send digital assets while maintaining a visible blockchain transaction record. However, crypto remains only one part of the overall relief process.
Blockchain transactions can show when funds move between wallets, but they cannot confirm whether food, medicine, or other supplies eventually reach affected families.
This makes trusted charities, financial controls, and local relief organizations essential to the process.
