Google Using Mechanism To Discern AI Content
Google is collaborating with other companies to identify and watermark online content created using artificial intelligence or synthetic methods. This comes amid growing concerns about the potential harms of synthetic content, such as deepfakes.
Google’s vice president, government affairs and public policy, Markham Erickson, said the collaboration aims to create interoperability between AI tools and synthetic content. This will ensure users have the same transparency and awareness when accessing such content, thereby promoting interoperability. The collaboration is expected to be completed during the Global Technology Summit.
