Stablecoin issuer Circle announced on Wednesday that its revenue for the second quarter of fiscal year 2026 is $701 million, which has missed the initial estimate of $713.3 Million.

Circle announced $701 million in overall revenue and reserve income, a 7% increase from the previous year. Additionally, it recorded $48 million in net income from continuing operations, an increase of $530 million from the previous year.

Additionally, Circle recorded $668 million in reserve income, which rose 5% annually, mostly as a result of a 25% rise in the average USDC circulation.

Wall Street expert forecasts gathered by Yahoo Finance show that the profit results only missed the average consensus of $713.32 million. According to Yahoo Finance statistics, Circle’s shares increased 5.7% in pre-market trading on Wednesday to trade above $66.50, although they are still down 20% year to date.

The profits report is released several weeks before Circle’s Arc blockchain’s September 16 public mainnet debut. According to the business, the blockchain has more than 100 institutional and ecosystem builders ahead of its launch.

In a separate statement on Wednesday, Circle also disclosed the founding validator cohort for Arc, which consists of BlackRock, DTCC, Galaxy, Global Payments, ICE, Mastercard, MoneyGram, SBI Group, Standard Chartered, Sumitomo Corporation, and Visa.

For the current fiscal year, management increased their projections for a number of important measures, including other revenue. This now includes Arc token presale income and was raised from $150 million to $170 million to a range of $310 million to $330 million.

According to statistics provider CryptoQuant, the total stablecoin supply dropped to $153 billion on June 30 from $156 billion on April 1, coinciding with Circle’s earnings failure.

With a $72 billion circulation supply, USDC, the second-largest stablecoin in the world, is issued by Circle. With $183 billion in circulation, Tether’s USDt (USDT) is ranked top by CoinMarketCap.

A representative for institutional technology provider Talos told Cointelegraph, “USDC remains the dominant stablecoin for on-chain settlement, even as supply growth has stalled.” USDC drove 72% of the $15.6 trillion in adjusted onchain transfer volume, moving roughly eight times more transfer volume per dollar of supply than USDT.
