Avalanche has launched the Avalanche Payments Collective, uniting 28 organizations focused on blockchain-based payments, stablecoins, settlement infrastructure, treasury management, and cross-border transactions. The initiative includes major financial and crypto firms such as Franklin Templeton, VanEck, WisdomTree, Paxos, Kraken, and Anchorage Digital. Its goal is to create a more connected ecosystem for digital payments, tokenized assets, and stablecoin settlements using Avalanche technology.

The collective covers nearly every layer of the payment stack, with participants involved in settlement, foreign exchange, custody, compliance, tokenized securities, merchant payments, and stablecoin issuance. Avalanche states the initiative formalizes an ecosystem that has been developing organically across its network.

Ava Labs Chief Business Officer John Nahas stated that the future of payments will rely on interconnected networks rather than a single provider or payment rail. The collective aims to foster collaboration among traditional financial institutions, blockchain companies, and payment providers.

Notably, Tassat’s Lynq network migrated to a dedicated Avalanche Layer-1 chain earlier this year. The network connects over 30 institutional participants and includes more than $2.5 trillion in transaction history from traditional banking environments.

The initiative highlights the growing role of stablecoins in business payments. Avalanche reported that B2B stablecoin payment volumes rose by over 700% year-over-year in 2025. Firms such as Paxos, Agora, Ethena, and the Wyoming Stable Token Commission are providing the digital dollar infrastructure needed for continuous settlement.

Despite this momentum, challenges remain. Regulatory frameworks for stablecoins and tokenized securities are still evolving, and integration with legacy financial systems is complex.

The formation of the Avalanche Payments Collective reflects growing industry efforts to modernize global payments through blockchain technology and tokenized assets.
