PayPal has increased the number of countries in which its dollar-backed stablecoin, PayPal USD (PYUSD), is accessible. According to the corporation, more people will be able to access quicker and less expensive digital payments thanks to the change.
The purpose of PYUSD is to facilitate international money transfers without the hassles and costs that come with using existing banking systems. Through their PayPal accounts, users can purchase, retain, transmit, and receive the stablecoin.
When users take money out, the stablecoin can be changed into local currency or moved to other digital wallets. Companies that take PYUSD can handle their cash flow more effectively and get payments faster.
PayPal first launched PYUSD in August 2023 as part of its strategy to bring blockchain-based payments into mainstream financial services.
Since then, the stablecoin has gained increasing adoption within the crypto industry. It has been integrated into several exchanges, wallets, and payment platforms.
In December 2025, YouTube also introduced a feature allowing some creators in the United States to receive payments in PYUSD.
With its latest expansion, PayPal hopes to make digital currencies more accessible to everyday users and businesses across the world.
