UAE-based digital bank Zand has expanded its partnership with Ripple to explore stablecoin and blockchain initiatives aimed at strengthening the country’s digital economy.
The collaboration includes potential support for RLUSD within Zand’s regulated custody framework and the exploration of liquidity links between AEDZ and RLUSD.
The partners are also assessing the issuance of AEDZ on the XRP Ledger, leveraging its compliance and risk management features. The initiative builds on prior payments-focused cooperation and reflects a broader push to integrate tokenization into traditional financial systems.
Executives said the move could enable governments and businesses in the UAE to adopt blockchain-based financial tools more seamlessly. The partnership underscores growing regional interest in regulated stablecoins as instruments for cross-border payments and digital asset innovation.
