Ripple has received preliminary approval for an e-money license in Luxembourg, bringing it closer to offering regulated digital payment services across the European Union. The authorization is subject to final conditions but is seen as a positive step forward.
If fully approved, the license would allow Ripple to provide stablecoin and digital asset payment services across EU member states using passporting rules. The development follows recent regulatory approvals for Ripple’s UK operations.
Ripple is also pursuing authorization under the EU’s MiCA framework, as it continues shifting its business toward fully compliant crypto and payment services across major global markets.
