Shrapnel To Permaban Users Found Playing The System
Players have criticized Shrapnel, a blockchain-based extraction shooter game, for using teaming and account sharing to gain an unfair advantage in matches.
The game warned of a permanent ban on manipulation and implemented systems to detect anomalies.
However, a community member criticized the decision, stating it penalizes guilds and communities that prefer team matches. Shrapnel will only remove users who unfairly coordinate to climb the leaderboard, not those playing with their friends.
In September 2023, Shrapnel decided to bar US users from cashing out in-game assets due to regulatory complications with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
However, the game will remain unrestricted for players from Europe and Asia. Shrapnel head of economy Francis Brankin stated that US users can do everything other players can do but cannot cash out.
