Surge In AI, Healthcare Hiring Noted In India For January

In January 2024, India experienced a significant increase in hiring for AI-related roles in sectors such as hospitality, healthcare, and FMCG.

The Naukri JobSpeak Index showed white-collar hiring of 2,455, a 1% increase from the previous month and a 11% decrease from 2023.

Senior professionals and premium job seekers were in high demand, with new AI jobs up by 12% compared to 2023. Dr. Pawan Goyal, Chief Business Officer of Naukri.com, attributed the rise in AI-related jobs to changing skill requirements in the IT sector and the positive hiring sentiment in healthcare, hospitality, and FMCG.

Hiring for niche AI roles like machine learning engineer and full-stack AI scientist increased by 46% and 23%, respectively. Conventional AI roles like data scientists were also in high demand.
