Among music bands, NFTs are becoming increasingly popular.. Heavy metal bands Megadeth, Avenged Sevenfold, and Slipknot’s Clown are a few of the well-known current heavy metal names that have dabbled in the NFT space.
American heavy metal band Megadeth was the first to establish the trend With their NFT, the “Megadeth Genesis token,” . In April 2021, they had put their unique NFT up for auction on Rarible. The amount that was raised was 8.4 WETH, or roughly $18,703. Following Megadeth, American alt-metal group Avenged Sevenfold joined the trend in Dec 2021 with their collection of 10,000 NFTs dubbed “Deathbat Clubs.”
One of the bands that helped launch the thrash metal movement—which had its roots in California—was Megadeth. They are American music giant Metallica’s contemporaries. With their upcoming release of a new NFT collection, this venerable American thrash metal band will provide fans exclusive access to both virtual and physical experiences.
The announcement was made by the band on X, where they stated that 5,000 NFTs with their mascot, Vic Rattlehead, will be included in the collection. Having one of these NFTs will grant you access to metaverse experiences such as having conversation with band members. Megadeth added that their goal with this project is not to create a traditional fan club but rather a community run by fans.
Since making the announcement, Megadeth’s sizable social media following has showered the band with praise. The band’s post regarding the combination of heavy metal and NFTs received a lot of positive feedback from fans.

Furthermore, anotherblock, a blockchain-based music platform, announced plans to release an unreleased Michael Jackson track on December 7 on the same day as Megadeth’s announcement. The current wave of innovation suggests that big names in music are drawn to the idea of leveraging web3 to give fans new channels for interaction, ownership, and access.
