NPCI To Integrate AI-Powered Bhashini
The National Payments Corporation of India plans to integrate AI-powered BHASHa INterface for India (Bhashini) with its own platform, enabling users to make conversational payments in Indian languages, check bank balances, make business-to-business money transfers, book LPG cylinders, recharge FASTag, and renew insurance.
Bhashini CEO Amitabh Nag aims to bridge the digital and literacy divide by introducing transactions like NPCI and the farmer bot for PM-Kisan. Voice processes make it easier for those not tech-savvy to interact with machines, reducing dependence on literacy for tech usage. Bhashini’s new services under NPCI will be rolled out in 22 official languages, with timelines determined by partner organizations. Bhashini will cover every use case under the NPCI, ensuring accessibility and ease of use for those not tech-savvy.
The National Payments Corporation (NPCI) has partnered with Bhashini to launch Hello! UPI, a conversational payments facility, as part of its efforts to increase digital payments in the country, particularly for feature phone users, by facilitating services like UPI Payment, Bharat Bill Pay, RuPay Card, and FASTag.
