The ICC World Cup 2023 will begin in India from October 5 onwards. There are 10 teams participating in the tournament – Host Country India, England, Australia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, The Netherlands, Afghanistan, South Africa, New Zealand and Bangladesh.
The tournament will see 48 games played across 10 venues in India with the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad hosting the opening match on October 5 between New Zealand and England and also the final on November 19, 2023. Whereas, India’s campaign to win the third world cup would begin with clash with mighty Australia on October 8, 2023.
In a grand gesture of celebration for the World Cup being hosted on home soil, Adidas has revamped the ODI jersey, replacing the three white stripes on the shoulders with the vibrant tri color. The BCCI logo now proudly bears two stars, symbolizing India’s historic ODI victories in 1983 and 2011.

Now the world of web3 is joining forces with International Cricket Council… yes, you heard it right.. In a first-of-its-kind technology collaboration, The International Cricket Council (ICC) has partnered with Swiss non-profit organization, The Near Foundation to build a blockchain-powered Web3 fan engagement app for the 2023 Cricket World Cup in India, which promises to reach hundreds of millions of fans over the next six weeks.
The app will allow fans to play prediction games requiring strategy selections for games during the competition. Fans will earn points reflecting their selections and the actual outcome of matches, counting toward leaderboards and rewards during the competition.
