Ethereum ETF Race Intensifies; SEC Receives 11 Filings
Applications for Ethereum (ETH) Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) have flooded the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). There are currently 12 applications, with ProShares, a well-known fund manager, adding the newest one.
A dual Ether and Bitcoin futures strategy ETF, an Ether strategy ETF, and a short Ether strategy ETF are among the four applications for ether-based exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that the platform submitted.
After Volatility Shares submitted its application on July 28 of this year, a recent spike in applications began. Since then, additional asset management firms have submitted, some bringing multiple applications, including ProShares, Roundhill Financial, Bitwise, Van Eck, and Grayscale Investment.
ProShares filed an application for an equal-weight ETF measuring long positions in Ether and Bitcoin contracts, aiming to track market performance.
