Pune Taps Blockchain For Property Registration
Following the announcement that Pune’s property registration department will use blockchain technology, India has scored another victory.
To minimise fraud, the city’s registration will rely on blockchain to prevent the duplication of online agreement documents. Officials argue that by recording all land transactions on distributed ledgers, potential purchasers and financial institutions will be able to obtain crucial information on properties.
“The blockchain technology will help resolve many issues, and it will be beneficial to citizens,” said Abhishek Deshmukh, a senior official at the registry.
