Per Gibraltar Court Freezes Globix Funds
Globix’s liquidators have obtained a court order to assist them in their search for $43 million in missing funds. A Gibraltar court ordered that digital assets associated with the downed crypto platform be frozen. They must also share customer information with the liquidators.
Gibraltar’s crypto ambitions are jeopardised by a court order. According to the Financial Times, the latest order from a Gibraltar court required crypto exchanges such as Crypto.com, Bitstamp, and Kraken to reveal the identities of holders of certain crypto wallets associated with Globix and its collapse. According to a source familiar with the situation, the court orders are intended to aid insolvency lawyers in their search for the missing $43 million.
Earlier this month, the court issued Gibraltar’s first ever crypto asset injunction, which ordered the world’s largest crypto exchange, Binance, to cease attempts to transfer assets from wallets associated with Globix.
