Indian Business Keen To Integrate The Metaverse
According to PwC India, nearly 70% of business executives in India plan to integrate the metaverse into their organisational activities, while 63% of companies that are actively engaged with the metaverse say they will fully embed the metaverse in their organisational activities within a year.
According to the report, the metaverse is a digital environment with a virtual world that mimics reality by utilising emerging technologies such as AI, low/no-code platforms, blockchain, cybernetics, 5G, edge computing, digital identity models, community and power platforms, AR, and VR.
More than 60% of business leaders polled by PwC India stated that they have a detailed or good understanding of the metaverse, with 48% having a good understanding and 13% having a detailed understanding already beginning to leverage its benefits.
TMT accounts for 22% of the companies surveyed, FS for 19%, pharma and healthcare for 16%, retail and consumer for 15%, industrial products for 12%, government for 9%, and automotive and edtech for 7%. 79% of those working in the TMT sector say they have a thorough or good understanding of the domain.
