- Morpho plans to launch its Midnight Adapter in Q4 2026, expanding access to fixed-rate lending across more than $5 billion in Vault liquidity.
- The adapter will allow Morpho Vaults to allocate deposits to both variable-rate Morpho Blue markets and fixed-rate, fixed-term Midnight markets.
- Vault curators will gain greater control over lending rates, capital utilization, maturity limits, and liquidity exposure.
Morpho is set to launch a Midnight Adapter for its Vaults during the quarter of 2026. This new tool will allow people to use more than five billion dollars of current vault liquidity for loans that have fixed rates and fixed terms.
A new design space is coming to Morpho Vaults.
With $5B+ in liquidity, Morpho Vaults will soon be able to allocate across both Morpho Blue and Midnight markets, unlocking new ways for curators to differentiate.

The decentralized lending protocol shared this upgrade plan on October 27. With the Midnight Adapter existing, Morpho Vaults will be able to spread deposits between Morpho Blue, which allows variable‑rate lending, and Morpho Midnight, which provides fixed‑rate loans that have clear maturity dates.
This change should give vault curators flexibility when they set lending rates, manage how much is used, and balance possible returns, with the need to keep withdrawals liquid.
Morpho Vaults To Support Fixed-rate Lending
Morpho Vaults currently puts money into Morpho markets, where the interest rates change based on each market’s interest-rate model. With the Midnight Adapter, curators will have the ability to send deposits into fixed-rate markets and decide the rates at which their vaults want to lend.
The new setup will also let curators spread money between markets, Midnight positions, and unused liquidity. While Morpho Blue markets aim for 90% usage, fixed-term Midnight positions can handle usage, possibly going all the way to full capital use. Higher usage could make capital more efficient. Bring better returns, but it could also make less money available for quick withdrawals.
Risk Controls & Redemption Options
The adapter will add protections for fixed-term lending positions. Midnight allocations need to stay inside set exposure and maturity limits, and the old vault risk caps will still be used for assets and related details.
By default, vaults can’t sell a Midnight position for less than its amortized value unless there’s an allowed exception that has a timelock. Curators can also set limits on allocations to longer-term loans, like positions that last longer than 90 days. Raising these limits needs a time lock. Lowering them can happen right away.
Depositors will be able to get vault shares for the actual Midnight positions through in-kind redemptions even if the vault has no extra money. These positions are valued based on the amount due when the position ends, discounted at the rate in effect when the position started.
