If achieved, this would surpass SpaceX’s IPO earlier this year at a $1.77 trillion valuation and become the leading public offering in U.S. history. The Wall Street Journal reported the listing could take place the week of November 16, 2026.
Revenue Soars But Losses Deepen
Anthropic’s S-1 unveils approximately $16.3 billion in revenue for the first half of 2026, alongside a net loss of roughly $80 billion for the same period, well above the company’s full-year 2025 net loss of approximately $42 billion.

Net loss: $80.75 billion https://t.co/c9uC7v99uc— Brew Markets (@brewmarkets) October 26, 2026
Compute and infrastructure costs consumed about $9 billion, more than half of H1 revenue. As of June 30, Anthropic held more than $112 billion in cash and cash equivalents and $19 billion in short-term investments.
Underwriters & Competitive Landscape
Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley are leading the offering, with JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Barclays, and Wells Fargo participating as additional underwriters.
Competitor OpenAI has delayed its own IPO plans; CEO Sam Altman reportedly called 2026 an ill-advised moment to go public in September. Anthropic’s S-1 also flagged risks related to advanced AI models, warning that extended autonomous operation could lead to irreversible consequences including unauthorised code changes or financial transactions.
