BNB Standard Corporation, previously CEA Industries, held an opening bell ceremony at Nasdaq’s MarketSite in New York on Monday. The event celebrated the company’s new name and the elevation of Alex Odagiu to chief executive officer (CEO).
When BNB started 9 years ago, I never thought I would be ringing the bell for a blockchain token (treasury) on NASDAQ one day. I don’t know what shows crypto and tradfi converging more than this.

Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao attended, as listed on Nasdaq’s website. BNB Standard describes itself as running the largest corporate BNB treasury, and its shares trade on Nasdaq under the ticker BNC.
BNB Holds Steady During The Event
BNB, the native token of BNB Chain, changed hands at $743.60 around the time of the ceremony. CoinMarketCap showed it up 0.41% across the prior 24 hours. The token’s market value came to about $97.79 billion, and trading volume over the same period reached roughly $1.41 billion, a 15.96% increase.
From CEA Industries To BNB Standard
The company changed its name from CEA Industries to BNB Standard on September 29, 2026. It kept its BNC ticker on Nasdaq, the US stock exchange where it is listed. On October 19, it promoted Odagiu from interim president to CEO.
The bell ceremony gave the company a public stage to present both changes. Its core business, however, is still its plan to hold BNB as a major part of its assets.
CZ reacted on X, recalling that he never expected to ring a Nasdaq bell for a blockchain token treasury when BNB launched nine years ago. He added, “I don’t know what shows crypto and tradfi converging more than this.”
Treasury Holdings & Staking Plans
A treasury is the cash and other assets a company keeps to support its business and financial plans. CoinMarketCap data shows BNB Standard held around 515,054 BNB as of October 26, 2026.
The company also plans to operate a validator node on BNB Chain and to rely on qualified custodians in order to succeed at staking. Staking involves committing tokens to help support a blockchain network, with the opportunity to earn rewards.
BNB Chain Develops A New Layer 1 Network
Separately, BNB Chain is working on a new Layer 1 blockchain built to process transactions quickly and deliver more predictable results. Called New L1 for now, the project targets uses such as high-frequency trading, on-chain order books, real-time payments and private financial services.
BNB Chain’s technical documents, updated on October 22, set out the proposed design. No official name has been announced. The existing BNB Smart Chain will keep running, so the new network is not meant to replace it. CZ also posted “Multiple chains, one coins” on X after the documents appeared.
Jenner Hard Fork Set For Testnet
BNB Chain is also preparing the Jenner hard fork, scheduled for the BNB Smart Chain testnet on October 28, 2026. The upgrade is expected to bring changes to payment processing, digital assets and smart contract timing.
Developers, validators, node operators and block builders have been asked to prepare compatible software and check their systems before the upgrade takes effect.
