Nasdaq-listed DeFi Development Corp. has acquired approximately 22,070 SOL and SOL equivalents for $2.43 million, raising its Solana holdings in the treasury to 2,586,282 tokens as of October 12, 2026. The company’s SOL treasury has grown by about 12% since its second-quarter earnings report on 12 August, despite weakness in the cryptocurrency market.
The company said it will continue to buy SOL despite weakness to pursue its long-term objective. The company has begun earning staking rewards by running its Solana operations and has launched a $300 million preferred share issuing programme that will aid in funding its purchases.
Today, $DFDV announced the addition of ~22,070 $SOL and SOL equivalents, bringing our treasury to ~2.59M SOL. 🚀
That’s ~12% growth in less than 9 weeks, driven by relentless accumulation.
Meanwhile, $CHAD keeps hitting new highs despite market softness.

DeFi Development is a digital asset treasury company that has acquired cryptocurrency as a significant component of its strategic investment. The company’s latest purchase follows its recent acquisition of approximately 19,000 SOL in August, even as cryptocurrency prices rise and fall against the dollar.
Chief Executive Officer Joseph Onorati said that his company’s short-term market moves would not distract him from his goals. “We don’t change our conviction or our commitment to accumulate SOL on a short-term volatility basis,” he said.
In addition to the purchase of 22,070 SOL tokens, the company has validator nodes that run on the Solana blockchain, processing and verifying transactions on the distributed ledger. The company has been earning from its stake in its Solana holdings as staking rewards, giving an additional source of income to boost its treasury.
DeFi Development has launched a $300 million at-the-market offering programme for CHAD, its preferred stock, to allow it to raise funds to finance its business plans, including the purchase of more SOL. However, the $300 million figure is the company’s maximum offering capacity.
Chief Strategy Officer Dan Kang said the programme would allow the company to fund the purchase of more SOL without issuing additional common shares, which would dilute the company’s ownership by shareholders and negatively impact company valuation.
CHAD has been performing well during the week ended October 9, reaching record trading levels and nearing its stated value of $10, even as SOL prices declined.
The preferred stock offers an annual dividend rate of 13% based on its $10 stated amount, equivalent to $1.30 per share annually. The payment of CHAD dividends to shareholders is made on business days when declared by the company. DeFi Development has highlighted growing interest in blockchain-based financial services as a positive development for Solana.
