According to Bitmine’s latest update, the company owned 6,028,946 ETH as of October 11. The value of each ETH was $2,544 on the trading day, according to data from Coinbase. Ethereum is the second-largest blockchain by market value, and ETH is its native cryptocurrency.
Bitmine’s digital asset treasury strategy means that it has allocated a significant amount of its portfolio to cryptocurrencies as an essential business area. Besides Ethereum, the company has allocated 214 Bitcoins, $612 million in cash and marketable securities, a $180 million stake in Beast Industries and an $85 million stake in Eightco Holdings. Its total assets, including cryptocurrencies and other investments, were valued at $16.2 billion.
The latest ETH purchase is smaller than those made by the company in the previous two weeks. Bitmine added 17,362 ETH during the week ending September 27 and another 15,112 ETH in the week ending October 4. The latest deposit suggests that the company is getting close to its stated buying limit.
Bitmine has been following its Ethereum treasury strategy since June 30, 2025. Its chairman, Tom Lee, has said that the company has been buying ETH every week since. Nevertheless, speaking at the TOKEN2049 event in Singapore on October 7, he confirmed that Bitmine would not hold more than 5% of the total Ethereum supply.
A total of approximately 122.1 million ETH, the 5% limit is equal to approximately 6.105 million tokens. With the latest purchase, Bitmine needs just around 76,000 more ETH to hit the level.
The company has a significant amount of ETH through staking. This strategy requires locking up cryptocurrency to support the blockchain network and earn rewards. As of October 12, Bitmine had staked 5.07 million ETH, worth approximately $12.9 billion. The figure represents roughly 84% of the company’s total ETH holdings.
Bitmine estimates that its current staking activity could generate about $336 million. If all its ETH holdings were staked, the company estimates that annual rewards could reach $400 million in revenue per year, given a recent yield of around 2.61%.
Staking rewards can present a problem for the company. They increase its ETH holdings and could cause them to exceed the 5% threshold. Lee has said that Bitmine could sell some of the rewards to stay within the level.
Once Bitmine hits its target, it could stop being a regular source of demand for Ethereum. The company has been able to fund its purchases largely by issuing shares, so ending the programme could impact the need for fresh capital.
With fewer purchases ahead, Bitmine’s financial performance will largely depend on the market price for Ethereum and the income it generates from staking. The company’s next moves will be closely followed by investors who monitor large corporate cryptocurrency owners.
