- Robinhood has bought $25 million in Bitcoin for its company money, which’s the first time the company has publicly said it owns Bitcoin.
- This amount is 300 Bitcoin when the price of Bitcoin is around $84,000.
- The $25 million Bitcoin that Robinhood has is not very big compared to the billions of dollars in cash and investments that the company has.
Robinhood has bought $25 million worth of Bitcoin for its company’s records according to Johann Kerbrat, senior vice president and general manager of international and crypto who shared this information during the Digital Asset Summit Asia in Singapore on October 7 2026.
I’m excited to share we’re adding $25 million of Bitcoin to our balance sheet.
We believe firmly in the future of crypto and view this as a strategic move for our overall asset diversification.

This purchase is a change for Robinhood, which in the past mainly provided Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies as trading and storage options, for its users. The new investment puts the brokerage in a group of more public companies that have Bitcoin as part of their companys financial assets.
Robinhood Adds Bitcoin To Its Corporate Balance Sheet
Kerbrat described the $25 million purchase as a direct addition to Robinhood-owned assets. With Bitcoin trading near $84,000 at publication, the allocation represents approximately 300 BTC.
The move follows earlier discussions within Robinhood about potentially adding Bitcoin to its treasury. The company had previously indicated that its proprietary crypto holdings were limited and primarily linked to operational requirements.
However, the $25 million position remains relatively small compared with Robinhood’s overall financial resources. The company has reported billions of dollars across cash, investments and stablecoins, making the Bitcoin allocation more of a strategic signal than a major balance-sheet shift.
$25B In Customer Crypto Is Separate From Robinhood’s Holdings
Robinhood’s corporate Bitcoin should not be confused with the much larger cryptocurrency balances held on behalf of customers.
On-chain data has attributed around 1.7 million addresses across 12 blockchains to Robinhood, with combined holdings approaching $25 billion in early October. Bitcoin reportedly represents the largest portion, with approximately 185,000 BTC valued at more than $15 billion.
These assets belong to customers rather than Robinhood itself. Customer custody assets are generally paired with corresponding liabilities and, therefore, should not be treated as corporate treasury reserves or shareholder equity.
The distinction is important as Robinhood expands its role across the digital asset market. Robinhood’s purchase comes as more publicly traded companies add Bitcoin to their balance sheets.
Some corporate treasuries now hold thousands of BTC, while the largest holders maintain positions worth billions of dollars. The company’s Bitcoin position will also be subject to fair-value accounting, meaning changes in Bitcoin’s market price can affect reported earnings.
