Strive has bought another 2,000 Bitcoin for about $169 million. This has taken the company’s total Bitcoin holdings to 29,462 BTC. The Bitcoin treasury company co-founded by Vivek Ramaswamy bought the Bitcoin between September 28 and October 2 at an average price of about $84,422 per coin, including fees and other expenses.

This is the company’s biggest weekly Bitcoin purchase since late August when it bought 1,800 BTC. Most of the money for the latest purchase came from the sale of SATA preferred stock and the exercise of warrants. Strive is continuing to use equity funding instead of taking on debt to buy Bitcoin.

The company disclosed the purchase in a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission on October 5. Out of the 2,000 Bitcoin, 538 were bought before September 30. This took Strive’s holdings to 28,000 BTC at the end of September. The company bought the remaining 1,462 Bitcoin on October 1 and 2.

The latest purchase was much bigger than the previous week’s purchase. Between September 21 and 25, Strive bought 1,107 Bitcoin for about $94.5 million. The company has been adding Bitcoin at a fairly fast pace since August.

There is another interesting point in these numbers. Between September 25 and October 2, Strive’s Bitcoin holdings went up by about 7.3%. During the same period, its common shares increased by about 3.4%. The company wants its Bitcoin holdings to grow faster than its share count. This can increase the amount of Bitcoin linked to each common share.

Strive is also trying to take its amplification ratio above 60%. The ratio was 55.3% on September 30, compared with 53.5% in the middle of September. The company has said that it wants to increase this ratio while Bitcoin is trading below $100,000.

SATA has become an important way for Strive to raise money. SATA stands for Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Preferred Stock. On September 30, around 12.94 million SATA shares were outstanding. They had a stated value of about $1.29 billion. Strive also has an annual dividend obligation of around $168.2 million on these shares.

Warrant exercises also brought in a good amount of money. Strive CEO and Chairman Matt Cole said the company received $56.7 million from warrant exercises during the period. He also said 61.5% of the capital raised came from SATA.

Strive had $284.7 million in cash and cash equivalents at the end of September. A week earlier, it had about $248.8 million. The company has said that it wants to remain debt-free. It also believes Bitcoin is attractively priced at current levels.

Strive has been buying Bitcoin regularly since August. During the third quarter alone, it bought 8,137 BTC at an average price of $78,885 per coin. This was lower than the $84,422 average price paid for its latest purchase.

Strive now holds nearly 29,500 Bitcoin. The company’s strategy is quite simple: keep raising money through preferred shares and other equity-related methods and use a large part of that money to buy more Bitcoin. The company hopes that its Bitcoin holdings will grow faster than its number of shares, giving each common shareholder a larger Bitcoin exposure over time.
