The dashboard is powered by blockchain data platform Allium and covers stablecoins with more than $100 million in circulation. Bloomberg said these assets account for more than 98% of the stablecoin market, providing Terminal users with broad coverage of the sector.
Stablecoin Data Moves Into Bloomberg Terminal
The new dashboard allows users to compare stablecoins using metrics including supply, mints, burns, transfer volume and transaction velocity. Users can also examine activity across different blockchain networks and analyze stablecoins based on their underlying peg, including fiat currencies and commodities.
The dashboard is available to Bloomberg Terminal users through the RWAS <GO> function. It brings blockchain activity into the financial data environment that professionals already use for fixed-income, foreign exchange and money-market analysis.
Stablecoin Market Tops $306 Billion
The launch comes as the stablecoin market continues to expand. DeFiLlama data puts total stablecoin market capitalization above $306 billion, with Tether’s USDT representing roughly 60% of the market.
Stablecoins have become increasingly important across cryptocurrency trading, payments, decentralized finance and tokenized financial markets. Metrics such as supply changes, minting, burning and transfer activity can provide additional insight into how these digital assets are being used across blockchain networks.
Bloomberg’s integration gives these onchain indicators greater visibility among traditional financial market participants who already rely on the Terminal for market data and analytics.
Bloomberg Expands Crypto Data Coverage
Bloomberg has supported Bitcoin pricing on its Terminal since 2014 and has expanded its cryptocurrency coverage over the years. The platform currently provides pricing, reference data, identifiers and benchmarks for 50 cryptocurrencies.
The addition of stablecoin data extends that coverage beyond crypto asset prices and into blockchain-based market activity.
