Elon Musk has revealed a potential launch window for Grok 4.7, saying xAI’s next-generation artificial intelligence model could become publicly available within 10 days. Musk also claims the model will outperform every major AI system currently available.

The announcement came through posts on X, where Musk said Grok 4.7 completed its initial pretraining around mid-August. Additional training is now incorporating SpaceX data, which Musk believes could give the model an advantage in real-world engineering tasks.
According to Musk, Grok 4.7 will feature 2.1 trillion parameters, significantly increasing the model size compared with the reported 1.5 trillion parameters of Grok 4.6. The larger architecture is expected to run somewhat slower, although Musk says it should use tokens more efficiently.
Musk also pointed to Anthropic as a major competitor, suggesting the company could release stronger AI models soon. Despite that competition, he said he would be surprised if another model outperforms Grok 4.7 specifically on practical engineering work.
The timing is notable as AI companies continue to accelerate model releases. Grok 4.5 was released in July, while Grok 4.6 was released on August 12. The growing competition is putting more pressure on leading AI developers to improve reasoning, coding, efficiency and real-world performance.
Independent benchmarks will ultimately determine whether Grok 4.7 can deliver on Musk’s ambitious claims.
NVIDIA Brings DLSS 5 To RTX 50 Series GPUs
NVIDIA has said that DLSS 5 will come out on September 4 for desktops and laptops that use GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs. This will also include the GeForce cloud gaming platform.
DLSS 5 uses intelligence to create better lighting, materials and visual details as games run. NVIDIA explains that the technology can operate during part of the rendering process.
NBA 2K27 is among the first major titles expected to support the technology. NVIDIA says an RTX 5090 running NBA 2K27 at 4K with ultra settings and ray tracing can reach up to 370 frames per second when the full DLSS technology stack is enabled.
