Trump Reiterates Anti-CBDC Stance
Donald Trump has emphasized his opposition to central bank digital currencies (CBDCs) at a rally in Laconia, New Hampshire. Trump referred to Vivek Ramaswamy, a crypto-friendly candidate who recently suspended his campaign after a disappointing showing in Iowa.
Trump has previously stated that CBDCs would be a dangerous threat to freedom, giving the federal government absolute control over money. Florida Governor Ron Desantis, another CBDC critic, recently suspended his campaign and endorsed Trump.
Trump believes that a majority of Republican primary voters want to give Trump another chance, and he will honor his pledge to support the Republican nominee. With DeSantis and Ramaswamy out of the primary, crypto may take a back seat.
